Poorva Prabhu

Poorva joined NEF Consulting in October 2021. She has a keen interest in, and experience of, studying labour markets from a gender perspective. She has been involved in research that analyses trends in female labour force participation in India and critically evaluates barriers to women’s entry in the Indian labour market. In previous work as an analyst with a management consultancy firm within the healthcare and education sectors, she applied both qualitative and quantitative methods. This work included conducting surveys and interviews with a variety of stakeholders to understand healthcare markets.

Using her quantitative skills while working with the Centre for Economic Performance at LSE, Poorva helped design a sustainable waste disposal system alongside an employment guarantee program to integrate informal waste workers in the economy of Patna, Bihar.

Poorva holds a BA in Economics from St Xavier’s College, India and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
