Annie Quick, our subject lead on inequality and wellbeing, was featured on Channel 4 News yesterday evening, discussing the impact of today’s inflation figures across Britain.
Costs are continuing to outstrip wages for most, and evidence shows that households are cutting back on spending on all but essentials and turning to consumer loans for support.
Government action is urgently needed to protect the worst-off: rising inflation must be met with efforts to raise wages and reduce living costs.
