Alfie wrote for the Guardian about how although the chancellor’s help for the self-employed is timely and welcome, millions remain left out and at the mercy of a decimated benefits system:
” But you can’t simply rebuild a safety net in a week after destroying it for a decade. The interventions to date are as unprecedented as they are welcome. But they are also incomplete. The job is not finished.”
