A Universal Credit Uplift Is Not Enough – We Need a Living Income

Sarah responded to the MP vote on extending the £20 uplift to Universal Credit, arguing that even with this boost, the system still leaves millions at or below the poverty line:
“We need to stop papering over the cracks in our social security system with emergency solutions, and deliver much deeper reform to ensure the UK’s safety net is fit for purpose, whether in a recession or in normal times.”
