When we have access to affordable housing, good quality childcare and decent quality jobs we are able to thrive.

Following decades of underinvestment, our public services are crumbling and too many of us cannot afford life’s essentials. The state needs to be modernised and empowered so that it can rein in the extremes of market forces, discipline capital and manage significant technological shifts.

We need to design and deliver public services – from adequate social housing to a healthy NHS – that are resilient and fit for 21st century purpose. 

We need to unlock the investment in these services and ensure a strong economy that provides for all of us. 

We need a global financial architecture that provides adequate global public finance, more effective interventions to provide social protection to those being left behind by the global economy, and better ways of holding power-holders to account for delivering on their commitments.
