New Economics Briefing: How can we resist an avalanche of evictions?

Last week, the government announced they would extend the temporary ban on evictions for another four weeks. This will do little to help the renters who have lost income and racked up debts during the crisis, and only kicks the can further down the road. Those who have been placed in temporary accommodation are also at risk.

How can we build on the pressure exerted on the government that forced this concession? How do we prevent an avalanche of evictions, and stop the public health crisis turning into a worsening homelessness crisis? What demands should we be making, and what can we do to win them?
