Covid vaccine, furlough extension, cancelling exams and tackling anti-vaccine conspiracies
Miatta Fahnbulleh on BBC 2 Politics Live
10 November 2020
Miatta appeared on BBC 2 Politics Live alongside Conservative MP Miriam Cates, Labour MP Chris Bryant and political commentator Peter Cardwell.
Covid vaccine
Miatta responded to news that vaccine from Pfizer could prevent more than 90% of people from getting the virus and that the NHS will be ready to roll it out if approved from December.
Furlough extension
Miatta argues that while the extension is the right thing to do, many are falling through the cracks of the scheme or have lost the jobs and so the government needs to bolster our social security.
Wales exam cancellation
Miatta made the case that in light of the exam result fiasco this year and a very disruptive time for education, it makes sense to build in continuous assessment in schools instead.
Tackling anti-vaccine conspiracies
Miatta argues that there needs to be a counter to these conspiracies through a massive public information campaign driven by the government.
