Launch of the Association for Quality Economics

Launch of a new economics accreditation organisation in partnership with Students Organising for Sustainability-UK and NEF

The Association for Quality Economics’ mission is to ensure all economics education is consistent, future focused, and capable of answering society’s biggest questions. We’re a by growing community of students, academics, and professionals reshaping economics education implementing concrete projects that facilitate curriculum transformation. Our expert advisory board, passionate staff team, and supportive organisational partners help us set standards, champion fresh ideas, and build a future ready discipline. AQE is a student led initiative, powered by SOS UK in collaboration with the New Economics Foundation, and with support from JJ Charitable Trust funders.

We were delighted to host an esteemed panel of Yuan Yang MP, Professor of Economics at UCL, Wendy Carlin, founding member of AQE Shloka Murarka, Visiting Professor Andy Ross and Dr Andy Smith pf the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. This is the first organisation, run by students, that seeks to accredit the economics discipline and give students a voice at the table to determine the discipline that they’re taught. For further information check the AQE website for updates.
